The Texas D1 Ambassadors was the brainchild of Coach Max Ivany. With seven players going on to play Division One college basketball from that initial group in the Class of 2006 the organization quickly became recognized as the crème de la crème in the Austin/San Antonio area.
Over the past 10 years, the D1 Ambassadors have produced 83 Division one players amongst their alumni. This is more than any other program in the talent rich area of Texas during that period. The D1 Ambassadors have become a National powerhouse, and Coach Ivany is among the most influential recruiting guru’s in the United States. His D1 Nation Prep Report is followed daily on a WORLDWIDE basis.
The D1 Ambassadors now have teams and alumni in Texas, Louisiana & Mississippi with continued growth on the horizon.
The Dallas Mustangs is a non-profit youth basketball program, which began in 1996, and is now one of the premiere summer basketball programs in the nation.
Their teams travel and compete in some of the most prestigious tournaments in the country. The organization consists of several teams competing in age divisions from 3rd grade through varsity.
The Dallas Mustangs teaches basketball, as well as, life skills to young males of all different backgrounds, who are interested in improving their fundamentals and overall knowledge of the game while learning how to interact with others.
The Heroes Basketball Program offers two youth programs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex – Heroes Select Basketball Teams and the City of Dallas Parks & Recreation Heroes Developmental League. Both share the same goal: Reach as many kids as possible with constructive opportunities – to participate in and learn the finer points of team sports as well as educational and cultural curriculums to give them hope for a much brighter future.
In 2005, Dallas Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson’s Assist Youth merged into the Heroes Organization, forming Heroes Basketball. Heroes sponsors two inner-city leagues called the Heroes Developmental League (HDL). These leagues are managed primarily through Dallas Parks & Recreation. Heroes funds the infrastructure, providing referees, gym time, uniforms and basketballs.
The Heroes Foundation also sponsors four Elite teams that travel from March to July to the nation’s best tournaments. Players are chosen based on character and basketball talent. The 2009 Heroes 17-under team won 65 of 75 games, capturing the Great American Shootout championship in Denton and reaching the Elite 8 at the Main Event in Las Vegas. Heroes team members also participate in Special Olympics clinics, the “Prepare for College” Fair and the Future Heroes Program, which features a Heroes team member spending a half day with a business executive.

Summer camps at Advantage Basketball camps main focus will be ball handling skill drills and moves off the dribble. This is by far the most important part of the game. Trying to learn the rest of the game is a waste of time if you cannot handle the basketball. The main focus is ball handling skill drills that help develop the athlete’s skill level thus enabling them to execute the moves they will be practicing at the camp. our secondary focus is teaching moves off the dribble. Both skill development techniques are used at all camps but the main focus is ball handling drills that are critical to getting the kids to be able to get the ball low and handle it properly so they can play the game at the level necessary to succeed in today's fast pace style of play.. We will also cover shooting and defense. Then which moves to use where, when and why. This will include court awareness in relation to where you are on the court. Where your defender is and where the help defense will be rotating from...... Try our camps once and you will be back again and again. Our camps are truly that good. These are not day care service camps. We run a very professional camp that is hard work but produces great results. Learn from our pros and find out why Sports illustrated kids picked us as one of the top Basketball camps in the country.
