The camp was directed by Vernon Holmes and a special guest speaker Keith Greer spoke to the student-athletes on life skills. This NCAA certified event was a two-day camp for players to showcase there skills against others in the valley. The camp attracted players from California, Georgia, Nevada, Utah and Arizona.
Greer, who coached Phoenix Suns Channing Frye said. “This is where it all starts, practice and working on your fundamentals.” Greer was Frye’s club coach and took him on trips all over the country. He shared his experience with the campers.
Holmes has several players in college on basketball scholarships thought this event would be one everyone could learn from. “You never know when college coaches are watching. Said Holmes, There was a chance that with the Division 1 College coaches in attendance that someone was being evaluated.”
