To allow more time for all interested youth basketall players to register, the Jr. All-American Camp Open Run will be rescheduled for February 2010. The date will soon be identified and communicted to all.
The Jr. All-American Open Runs are the newest addition to the Jr. All-American Camp brand. Open Runs will be held in designated cities across the US during 2009-2010 school year.
Players who attend the February Open Run can earn an invitation to the National camp, if they are selected as one of the top performers. Open Runs however are different from regional camps. There are no "stations" that feature skill development and drills. Only games. 5-on-5. They are open to anyone in 5th through 9th grade.
Also, unlike most of their regional camps, Open Runs are just one day. They are held 8:00am - 3:00pm on a Saturday or Sunday. Locations or sites are in the city, closer in, unlike some regional camps which can be further out in suburbs and thus difficult or inconvenient for many to get to.
Similar to regional camps, scouts will attend the Open Runs. They will cover them and may do a ranking following the event that could appear on scouting service websites, the Jr All-American Camp site and/or other popular Internet basketball sites.
The fee to participate in an Open Run is $40. Each participant receives an Official Jr All-American Camp OPEN RUN jersey and 3 games. For registration and payment, click here.
