The 5rd Annual Arizona Middle School Basketball Exposure Showcase was held January 22, 2012 at Phoenix College just minutes from downtown Phoenix.
Area Codes Basketball presented this event which featured 196 middle school basketball players from Arizona and a few from California. “It’s great to catch all the top young talent play at a high level before high school, this is a very special group”, said Paul Dean, publisher from www.westcoasthoopsreport.com
Special thank you to the many scouting services and websites in attendance that supported this event such as Jeff Meadows of www.hoopsreport.com, Pra Murthy of www.pointguardu.com, Vernon Holmes of www.xdspn.com , Chris Ramirez of www.roundballdirect.net as well as www.areacodesbasketball.com and www.ihoops.com.
Kodi Justice a high school sophomore at Dobson High School talked about playing in exposure events and why he committed to Arizona State a few months ago. Sid Sharma one of the best athletic trainers in the country who runs www.explosive-athletes.com talked about athletic performance off the court. Carolyn Moos a former USA Basketball player and Stanford University/WNBA player talked about health and nutrition, her website is www.carolynmooss.com
Dozens of players made a name for themselves on this day. Let’s look at the eye catchers after the 18 games. Also special thanks to www.Dunkdog.com who sponsored t-shirts to all the players. DunkDog.com is a brand new website to launch in a couple of weeks.

If you have not noticed, the caliber of play found in today's basketball player is much stronger than it was a decade ago. If you go back even farther, it becomes very apparent that yesterday's basketball player does not even compete with today's basketball athletes. Stronger, bigger, faster, quicker and with skills that are developed early in their youth basketball experience is now the norm. In the past, multiple sports athletes were a common occurrence, however, today with specialization in one sport as the norm and with younger athletes developing their basketball skills sets increasingly at a younger age, the sport of basketball is now producing top performing basketball players all over the country. With this in mind, showcases are now focusing on the 5th - 8th graders in the exercise of highlighting as early as possible the high school stars of tomorrow. In Arizona, the Arizona Middle School Exposure Showcase has become one of the elite events where one can find the serious minded parents and players who have chosen basketball as their main preference. Click on the flyer below to highlight the details of this event.
