All-Stars Basketball Academy
Year-round training program for those serious about improving their game
The basketball court reflects everything for all to see and does so at a fast pace. Good or bad, strengths and weaknesses manifest themselves very quickly. Timeouts are brief, there is no waiting on the sidelines while others are at the plate or on offense, defense, or on special teams. The game demands that all five players on the court play at a high level at all a times or they will quickly be overwhelmed by stronger, quicker, faster, more fundamentally sound players. Basketball has no mercy on weaknesses. The player must be able to put the ball in the hoop or stop the ball from being put in the hoop or he won't be on the hardwood for long.
At the All-Stars Basketball Academy we train smart, hard and incessantly. But we are not for everyone. Not all parents and student-athletes are committed to maintaining the intense training pace required to thrive in the extremely competitive nature of this game. There is no magic wand or miracle pill that we offer to transform a player into a great player. We don't come from "the league" or claim to "know-it all" about everything because we don't know everything. But we have years of experience and the proven results on developing elite basketball players and possess the humbleness in knowing that we will always be students of the game.
How do we do it?
It takes hard, smart and incessant training to go from good to great. Going from good to great is our specialty. If you make basketball your life and are willing to sacrifice everything but academics in the name of the game, we are the basketball academy program for you. We don't want to waste your time nor do we want you to waste ours. Life is short and we want to make the most of it at our academy.
What do we look for?
If you want to make lay ups, in traffic, with either hand, we are for you. If you want to make those lay-ups with reverses using either hand while elevating from either foot, we are for you. If you want to consistently make 20 out of 25 3-pointers, we are for you. If you want to be at 90% or higher with free-throws, we are for you. If you want to master the art of creating your own pull-up shots and consistently making them , we are for you. If you truly want to develop elite ball-handling, we are for you. If you want to be known as a defensive stopper, a specialist at not allowing opponents to score, we are for you. If you want to learn how to attack the paint with abandon showing no fear and in control, we are for you. If you want to box out and rebound as if your life depended on it, we are for you. If you want to increase your basketball IQ, your ability to pass and to have what we call "Court Vision," we are for you.
If you are willing to put the same effort into our program a year from now as you are the day you started, we are for you.
If not, there are many club teams, academies, trainers and others who will embrace you because we will not be a good fit.
“Our basketball development vision is like a long journey that must be taken one step at a time. It is long and arduous with peaks and valleys along the way. At times it seems like a roller coaster whose range alternates from euphoria at the taste of victory to depression when embracing defeat. But sure as the sun rises after the night, the permanent taste of victory is usually with he who completes the journey with patience and with the awareness that we are seeking more than just to become a role player on a team, but instead, to become a franchise player who dominates the hardwood with both skill and will…this is a great player and this is what we seek to accomplish with those who have the perseverance to sacrifice in the name of mastering this sport. We don’t have a magic wand to development. What we do have is the fundamentals taught right and repeated hundreds of thousands of times over the course of years. You simply have to want it both as parents and players and invest the time and expense it takes. One must keep at it….it is a grind….I know no other way.” Coach Morales
