The Phoenix Spring Showcase Review

3PHXSPRINGSHOWCASEFRNT For those who are on the look out for Arizona's top youth basketball talent, the Phoenix Spring Showcase was the place to find them.

Gravitating to this event were a good mix of club, high school and free agent teams.  Whatever the mix, make no mistake about it, it was a weekend full of talent and exciting games.

Some of the participating teams included club teams like the AZ Stars, Jump Athletic, AZ Magic, Team Mphasis, JW All-Stars and Desert Storm to name a few.   There were also free agent players that hailed from other club teams that were not present such as the Arizona All-Stars' 8th grade shooting phenom guard Marco Morales who was invited to attend and currently is a Willis Jr. High student planning on playing for Hamilton, Chandler high school.  Throughout the tournament Marco did not disappoint as he held his own in defense while contributing his signature 3-pointers throughout the course of the tournament.

Other notable  players included 6'1" FreshmanTimothy Johnson who hails out of San Carlos, Arizona and brings with him and all around game that includes a consistent outside shooting game, a great team focused style of play with strong ball handling skills.  Also noted are 6"7" Senior Derrick Detrick of North Canyon high School and Maurice Kirby, 6' 9" of Flagstaff high school.  A number of players from powerhouse Mesquite high school were present adding additional quality to an already quality filled tournament showcase.   To find out more about other players click here to read the Showcase review.
