The All-Stars Basketball Academy (ABA) system focuses on the most important fundamental skill a basketball player can possess which is to be able to accurately shoot.
Excellent shooting can often make the difference between a player becoming successful or wallowing in obscure mediocrity. It can also take basketball teams with average athletic skills and turn them into championship contenders.
Unfortunately most youth club teams spend too much time out of state traveling and not enough time at home working on player development which includes helping their players to master the art of shooting.
Club teams need to emphasize that players have solid fundamental skills. Not every player is going to be the quickest or the highest jumper, but every player should be taught how to play. They need to know how to attack the basket, how to dribble and how to work with their teammates and most importantly, they all need to know how to shoot!
Most club programs have become very lazy and unfocused in preparing our athletes in the game of basketball. Too many players today couldn’t hit a free throw or jump shot when it counted let alone an open man.
At the ABA, we are a program that is known for its focus on "The Art of Shooting". All of our players must desire to know how to play the game, they must have a passion for the fundamentals to include ball-handling, passing, defending and, most important of all, the art of shooting.
